It’s the next generation laser rangefinder developed with the help of Ralph and Vicki Cianciarulo of Archer’s Choice.
This rangefinder by Nikon was designed with real-world bow hunting situations in mind. The Archer’s Choice MAX combines Nikon 's trademark speed, accuracy and simplicity with technology designed to give hunters the confidence to take the shot. With Nikon's advanced ID Technology it compensates for various incline or decline shooting angles, which allows bow hunters to range targets from a tree stand or in steep terrain with the same confidence and ease as ranging over flat ground. Like all Nikon Rangefinders, the Archer’s Choice MAX Rangefinder operates on a single CR2 battery.
The newly developed Active Brightness Control Viewfinder is designed to offer the advantages of both traditional LCD (liquid crystal display) and an LED (light-emitting diode) display in order to provide better visibility and contrast in varying light conditions. The core of the Nikon technology is the latest LCD with automatic brightness control to the LED illumination. Utilizing this new technology, Nikon has optimized the viewfinder display to detect the brightness of the ground area mainly within the field of view (being influenced to a lesser degree by the brightness of the sky). By detecting the brightness within this viewing field, the rangefinder presents the newly designed LCD and will apply automatically controlled LED illumination to the LC (liquid crystal) characters by detecting the brightness within this viewing field as necessary for increased visibility.
Nikon Archer’s Choice MAX laser rangefinder also features a larger ocular for easy viewing, a wider field of view, single button operation, easy-to-view uncluttered LCD display, bright, multicoated 6x optics, distance target priority mode, first target priority mode, Nikon's ID technology and waterproof/fogproof (except battery chamber) durability.
