Bret Overturf

Artist/Owner, Wildlife Studio

From his home in the mountains of the American west, Bret Overturf's passion for the outdoors has drawn this wildlife artist, guide and sportsman around the world.

As an artist with an international clientele, Bret's love of the outdoors is evident in every aspect of his work. His monumental bronze wildlife sculptures have earned Bret notoriety for naturalism and renowned acclaim for his unsurpassable realism in the art of taxidermy. Bret shows his work annually at the SCI show in Reno.

As a guide, Bret welcomes several clients each year into his home, depriving them of nothing, except maybe a little sleep. He sends them away with record elk, pronghorn and black bear. For the months of August and September, Bret’s home is his bedroll in Alaska, where he leads sheep and bear hunts. October is historically reserved for Bret's volunteer work with Helluva Hunt, a group devoted to assisting handicapped hunters.

Forever an avid sportsman, Bret embarks on annual trips to Southern Africa, South America, Alaska and Texas for big game hunting, fishing and visiting the friends he's made along the way.

In between take offs and landings, and comings and goings, Bret and Chocolate Lab 'Savage' settle into Bret's Cody, Wyoming studio to create wildlife art and spend time with friends.
