As a young child I dreamed of the day when I could go along with my father and uncles on their annual deer hunting trip to my grandmother’s in the mountains of Pennsylvania. At the age of nine I got the chance to go; following my dad up and down those mountains for the first time gave me a feeling I will never forget. This began a passion, a love, for the outdoors, that is only matched by the love I feel for my wife and family. I was fortunate to harvest my first buck, a 6 point, with my dad’s 270 at the age of 12, and then at 13, I shot my first buck with my dad’s bow, and that was all it took! I have been hunting and fueling the fire of the outdoors ever since! I love to bow hunt, but I LOVE to HUNT!
I started my travel hunting years at 19, when I went on an elk, bear, mule deer hunt to Montana. The following year I went to The Eastern Outdoor Sports Show with my uncle. There I met Russ Walker, the owner of Whitetalis Unlimited, who specialized in deer hunts in Canada, and the West. I came very close to booking a hunt with Russ, but at the same time one of my friends introduced me to an outfitter who guided for antelope in New Mexico. If I booked the antelope hunt I could also go Elk hunting with my bow for 10 days, at no additional charge. Well since I could hunt deer at home, I chose the antelope/ elk combo. I harvested a great buck and then shot my first elk with a bow. The outfitter said I was one of the best callers he had ever heard and offered me a job guiding, and if I found him some hunters I could hunt as well. This is where the arranging of big game hunts began, and the rest is history!
About 12 years ago I ran into Russ again. We joined our companies and started Bullseye Outfitters and Adventures, and combined, we now have been booking hunts for some 25 years! We are very fortunate as we have traveled the world and have harvested some awesome trophies, established an incredible stable of reliable outfitters, and have developed many outdoor friends and clients! Our business has grown to include the consulting of hunting adventures, our TV Show, now in its third season, travel agency, and our marketing group.
I look forward to the years ahead, the adventures, the relationships, and the growth of my business, friends, and family. I only hope that I can give back to this wonderful industry and what it has done for me. In closing, you can bet that I will enjoy logging many hours of the outdoor adventures I will share with my children, as they are my future and my legacy!
