Larry Weishuhn is one of the country's most respected wildlife biologists, as well as an outdoor writer, public speaker and television personality. Known throughout the outdoor world as "Mr. Whitetail," because of and for his many years of research, management, hunting and promotion of proper management of the whitetail deer and wildlife habitat. As a biologist Larry has established quality wildlife management programs on well over 15,000,000 acres, mostly for whitetail deer, but also for elk, mule deer, desert bighorn sheep and other big game and non-game species.
Larry is the host of "Winchester's World of Whitetail with Larry Weishuhn" on Versus Country. Larry has also served as a featured regular on ESPN2's "Whitetail Country" and has served as a guest host on such shows as "SCI's Expedition Safaris," "Petersen's Hunting" and numerous others.
As a hunter Larry has hunted big game extensively throughout North America, Africa, South America, Europe and New Zealand. While Larry hunts with rifle and muzzleloader, his favored way of hunting is with his T/C Encore pistol.
Weishuhn is a Professional Member of the Boone & Crockett Club, one of 100 world-wide; a member of numerous Safari Club International chapters; a life member and supporter of Dallas Safari Club; a co-founder of the Texas Wildlife Association, which now serves as a model for other state organizations involving landowners, wildlife managers and hunters; as well as various other wildlife and hunting-oriented organizations.
