Wade Middleton developed a passion for the outdoors early in life, growing up in southern Oklahoma where he hunted and fished the public lands around Lake Texoma and the Red River. His fondness for those activities led him to pursue studies in fisheries management and wildlife conservation, which were interrupted by a stint in the United States Air Force. He served with distinction in the Middle East and Europe, and returned for some time in Washington, D.C. All the while, he continued to pursue his love of the outdoors.
Upon completion of his military service, Wade knew what he had to do… work full-time in the outdoors’ industry. He strengthened his skills and built business relationships while working as a hunting guide and outfitter in Mexico and the Southwest, and fishing the FLW Outdoors and BASS tournament trails.
For the past 15 years, Wade has been part of Careco Multimedia, San Antonio, Texas, where he has become one of the most diverse television hosts and producers working today. He has produced hundreds of commercials, television shows and events, while also appearing on an average of 75 original one-half hour outdoors programs each year for the past several years.
He currently serves as a television host and producer for Fishing and Hunting Texas, which airs 52 weeks a year on Fox Sports Southwest; co-hosts and serves as a pro staffer for Americana Outdoors, which airs on Versus: and remains one of college bass fishing’s staunchest allies, of which he is an original founder of its national events.
What does he do on the rare occasions when a day-off comes along? “I go hunting or fishing,” he says with a laugh. “Being outdoors is my life.”
